Your mind and body

My focus is your well-being and good health. I am a well-trained therapist with extensive years of experience in counselling psychotherapy and adult mental health issues.

Harmony Counselling Service will help you develop a willingness to experience emotions and develop a capacity to be open to painful and even distressing moods, thoughts and sensations.

Sometimes in our daily lives, we spend time focusing on worries, concerns, and the pressures of everyday life. This distracts us from finding solutions or, moving forward.

Qualified and Experienced Mindfulness Teacher

Mindfulness is an ancient Buddhist practice that has been used in the west for the past 40 years. Mindfulness has been offered within a framework of western psychology and science. Mindfulness is now also introduced in educational settings, used to enhance sports performance, and workplace environments to reduce stress, increase focus and enhance well-being.

Mindfulness involves learning to pay attention to our bodies and minds with full awareness. By learning to be aware and awake to each moment, we can then begin to untangle the patterns of stress, anxiety and confusion.

Many of us live on auto-pilot, being only partly aware of what we are doing and experiencing in each moment.

Mindfulness offers a way of responding to life, so that rather than being constantly pushed and pulled by what we encounter, we can find ways of meeting our experiences with balance and ease.

Mindfulness has traditionally been offered in clinical contexts in the forms of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). Mindfulness practice gives us the capacity to bring focus, clarity, and balance to each moment. Mindfulness supports emotional intelligence and clear communication, helping to build the effective relationships that are an essential part of any organisation or business.
